What this article has shown me is that i have been reading these common/regular scriptures with religious lens all these years incurring very poor visibility and myopic conditions to the detriment of my spiritual life. Thanks Scott for bringing insight and understanding to this topic.

what has stood out for me is that power should be used for human development which is contrary to the current thinking where people are using power to oppress and build status for themselves and especially for those who have political power. A big change of mentality and attitude will be required for this to be a reality.

As I read the Christmas Story series, the mystical dimensions of the prophetic leapt out at me in how God spoke in dreams to the Magi and to Joseph…I sense this immediate opening up of my heart to receive more of the mystical from God to govern every facet and aspect of my life…and the prophet’ Joel’s words seem a more practical reality to me- “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.”- Joel 2:28-29. What new revelational faith to meet 2011!

So we can say that being prophetic is knowing how to respond correctly in different scenarios of life by out maneuvring the systems of this world which try to thwart the forward movement of God’s Divine plan. Forces of darkness will try to silence or extinguish the light but God’s ordained purpose goes on undetered despite the opposition .Baby boys of two years and below were slaughtered but God had already taken Jesus to a place of refuge [Eqypt]. Let us put to death the babylonian systems and remain alert in our daily lives as our every activity teaches us or reveals to us His Divine will.

I read this article and concluded that these briefs are very effective in releasing and building the new prophetic dimension into the ordinary saint (like myself) . What this article did for example, was just strip a very common scripture of its usual religious trappings/perception/limitations, and liberated me to see it for what it is, and its absolute instructive relevance regarding the role of the prophetic in our lives today. It made the prophetic seem so practical, fundamental, and accessible for our lives (as indeed it is). It also made it easy to see that the prophetic facilitaties the global eternal purposes of God in the earth. Thanks much and looking foward to the others.

This is a very important observation Vanessa – we must strip the Word of God of religious assumptions that dilute it and render it non-effective. God has placed within His Word instructions and examples regarding every sphere of life: economic, relational/family, political, etc. We have to gain more insight from Him to see how relevant these principles are for us today.

I think that gaining sight that will strip the word of God of religious assumptions is the greatest battle for the church today. Thank God that the prophetic ministry today is not just about prophesying to people but rather unveiling these principles upon which people can build in all spheres of life. This newsletter is very eye opening and declares the necessity of always approaching this season from a prophetic relevance. The scenario that surrounded the birth of Jesus was highly prophetic despite the many traps of the enemy.Thank God the wise men dimension of the apostolic is in the church again and hence we can interpret the times and seasons of God with accuracy. Thank GOD for such light that brings so much relevance.
